The Biggest Fall 2018 Trends According to NYFW

Hey guys!

So, for this season’s fashion week coverage over on the blog, I decided to do something a little different. Instead of talking about my favorite looks from my favorite collections, I thought I’d try talking about some of the biggest trends from New York Fashion Week. While some of these trends are a little bit predictable, or continuations of trends that we’re already seeing, some of them are a bit different from what’s expected of fall trends, so it was a lot of fun to comb through all the collections and try to pick the biggest themes out.

Dip yourself in sequins and call it a day, metallics will continue their moment well into the fall season.

Fall is calling for you to cinch that waist, honey. NYFW is predicting belts are gonna be a huge statement piece.

Chunky knits and thick layers? Not this time, we’ll be feeling the breeze with tulle on just about everything.

The oversized look is here to stay … at least for another season or two, so size up on sweaters, coats, and collars.

Bold colors are in for fall, we’re talking highlighter level bold here people, the future is bright!

Monoprints are taking over! It’s all about prints from your head to your toe. This trend is not for the faint of heart.

We’re taking a page out of Blair Waldorf’s book and making loud tights a thing again this fall because, honestly, it’s what she deserves.

The cropped craze continues. This fall it’s all about cropped outerwear. So, make sure yours stops at the waist (if it’s nt oversized, duh).

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by some of the trends and themes I saw ranging throughout all the collections shown during NYFW. I mean, highlighter colors for fall? Unconventional and, dare I say, revolutionary. I’m super excited to see how these trends translate into stores as we get closer to fall.

What were your favorite trends from New York Fashion Week? Leave me a comment below and let’s chat about it.
